Angelica Ross has accused her former American horror story co-star Emma Roberts who deliberately mistreated her during the filming of the FX series 1984 season.
Posted in an Instagram Live to verify her social media page On Tuesday, Ross claims Roberts suggested she was a man while the duo were on set in between. “I’m standing in front of Emma and talking to her like this, and she’s standing in front of me, with her back against the mirror,” the actress said. “She says, ‘John, Angelica is mean.'”
Ross, who is transgender, recalled the incident, which she said occurred when her co-star responded to a AHS crew member identified only as “John,” who urged both actors to refocus and “get back to work.”
“John says, ‘Okay ladies, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.’ And then she looks at me and says, “Don’t you mean lady?” And she turns around like that and covers her mouth,” Ross said. “I’m staring at her with her dead ass looking into the (camera) and I’m trying to process the fuck she just said.”
Ross also claimed that this wasn’t the first time Roberts had negative interactions with an actor on set, telling her Instagram Live viewers that her own decision not to report the incident was based on fear of retaliation following the outcome of a other alleged interaction between someone and Roberts.
“It makes my blood boil because I think, if I say something, I’m the problem,” she explained. “I know this because there was someone who spoke out about what she did, and they suffered consequences.”
The actress added that after the interaction, she decided not to speak to Roberts further — something Ross claims her former co-star eventually noticed. “I was like, ‘I’m done,’” Ross continued. “We had scenes together and I never spoke to her. She said to me: she felt the energy coming from me. She said, ‘Are you okay? You didn’t talk.’ I’m like, ‘Mmmhmm.’”
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to representatives from Roberts, FX and Ross for comment.
