Angela Scanlon has reassured fans that she is “absolutely fine” after being involved in a “serious crash” when her Addison Lee cabin collided with an ambulance on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old guest host of The One Show was rushed to hospital after the incident, but she has now told her followers it was only as a precaution.
Witnesses at the scene – on the ‘billionaire row’ of Bishops Avenue in London – said the private rental car had been hit by a van that had originally been hit by a BMW.
Everything good! Angela Scanlon has reassured fans that she is ‘absolutely fine’ after being involved in a ‘serious crash’ when her Addison Lee cab collided with an ambulance on Tuesday
Angela spoke on Instagram on Wednesday about the crash, confirming that no one was injured and that she was released from hospital on Tuesday evening.
Hoping to allay her fans’ concerns, Angela said: ‘Quick one to ease the panic of my friends and family and everyone who messaged, thank you so much.
“I’m fine, there was a car accident yesterday. I was in it. No one was injured, luckily we collided with an ambulance.’
Shocking: Angela was treated by medics at the scene and then taken to hospital, where she was released shortly after and reportedly ‘was doing well’
Angela added: “There were two – anyway – they were great, everyone was great. I had to go to hospital as a precaution and was out last night and um yes took a day off absolutely fine both drivers fine yes don’t know what else say sorry if someone freaked out.”
Earlier this week it was reported that the Irish host was in a private car at 9.30am when he collided with an ambulance on The Bishops Avenue in north London – nicknamed ‘billionaires’ row’ due to the concentration of sprawling mansions.
Angela, who regularly fills in for regular presenter Alex Jones on the BBC show, said she was ‘going well’ shortly after being taken to hospital.

A local told The sun: ‘It was a serious accident involving four vehicles. It made a hell of a noise. Pretty loud bangs. There were a total of four vehicles.
“People looked shocked and shocked. The damage to the Addison Lee was not too bad and the ambulance itself had to be removed. It was shocking. The ambulance arrived quickly and took Angela with them.’
A London ambulance spokesman told MailOnline on Wednesday: ‘We were called at 09:27 on 14 September with reports of a traffic accident involving a private ambulance on Bishops Avenue, N2.
On the mend: She took to Instagram Stories to share flowers her team had sent her and was promoting her boyfriend’s podcast, without mentioning the incident
‘We have sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated a woman and took it to hospital.’

It comes after Angela – who shares three-year-old daughter Ruby with husband Roy Horgan – spoke about motherhood in a March interview with The Daily Mail.
She said candidly, “No one can prepare you to be a mother. I have a lot of nieces and nephews and really thought I knew what was coming, but it’s completely different. There is no manual that you will receive when you leave the hospital.
“Motherhood is a huge gear shift. So much of my identity was tied to my career – having a baby and taking time off from work meant I didn’t know who I was anymore.
“After I gave birth, my recurring TV presenting role with Dara O’Briain in Robot Wars was canceled. That felt devastating. But I looked down at this little human that I had pushed out and I thought, “Okay, you know what, I can survive.”
Reflecting further on her return to work after 12 weeks, Angela said she was “like a deer in the headlights, fueled by caffeine and suffering from insomnia.”
She continued, “Often I would beat myself up if I had to travel for work or if I wasn’t around for bedtime.
“But I’ve learned to ask for help—and take it when it’s offered. That’s not being weak, that’s human.’
