Angel Reese will enter the WNBA Draft, making the announcement in Vogue after LSU lost to Iowa in the NCAA tournament on Monday.

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese saidahead of the Draft on April 15.

‘I’ve won a national championship, I’ve been (Southeastern Conference) Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a professional and one of the best basketball players who ever lived. I feel like I’m ready.

‘I will work with adult women. I will work with women who have children, women who have a family to feed.

‘I’m going to have to work hard every day and put in the effort. And who wouldn’t want that? I don’t want anything in my life to be easy.

‘I want to start from the bottom again. I want to be a rookie again and rebuild myself; I want to get knocked down and learn and grow to the next level.’

LSU lost 97-84 to Iowa on Monday, with Caitlin Clark upstaging Reese with an impressive 41-point display.

Reese, 21, scored 17 points for LSU in the loss and, speaking after the game, broke down in tears when talking about the death threats he received off the court.

“I can’t really defend myself,” he said. ‘I mean, I have great teammates. I have a great support system. I have my hometown. I have my family that defends me. I can’t really talk about things because I just ignore them.

“I’m just trying to stay strong,” he continued. ‘I’ve been through so much, I’ve seen so much, I’ve been attacked so many times. Death threats, I have been sexualized, I have been threatened.

‘I have been so many things and I have stayed strong, every time. And I just try to stick up for my teammates because I don’t want them to see me down and not be there for them.

‘I’m still a human. All this has happened since I won the national championship (in 2023), and I said the other day that I have not been happy since then. And it sucks, but I still wouldn’t change anything.

‘And I would still sit here and say that I am unapologetically me, that I will always leave that mark and be who I am and stand by that.

“And hopefully the girls that look up to me…hopefully I give them some kind of inspiration…continue to be who they are, continue to wake up every day, continue to be motivated.”
