Angel Reese responded to Taylor Swift fans on social media amid backlash over her interview with Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole.
Nicole, who dated Kelce on and off for five years before his romance with Swift, opened up about her previous relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on Reese’s ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast this week.
Among many other revelations, the 32-year-old influencer admitted that she can’t talk to Travis if they see each other in public due to his ‘situation’ with Taylor. She also spoke out about the vile abuse ‘Swifties’ have been subjecting her to online.
Reese, who just completed her rookie WNBA season with the Chicago Sky, told Nicole at one point that she “loved” her and Kelce together.
They have both come under fire from Swift’s fans in the wake of the interview, with Nicole being told to “get over” Kelce and Reese being criticized for bringing up the topic to get views.

And in the midst of the criticism they received, the basketball star responded in X: ‘Hating also pays’, along with an emoji of painting her nails.
Nicole brought to light the abuse she received from Swift’s fans amid Kelce’s relationship with the pop megastar, which was publicly confirmed when she first attended a Chiefs game in September 2023.
“I think the combination of everything is the perfect storm to make you want to disappear from the world completely,” she told Reese about how much it impacted her.
‘Behind closed doors, the hardest thing is losing a partner, a best friend, talking every day about cutting ties. Then you add social media.
‘I’d be lying if I said that level of hate and chaos online didn’t affect me, even to this day. You could go to my most recent posts and people would be debating why I’m worthless.
‘It has nothing to do with me. “I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, which is unfortunate because I don’t think I’ve done anything to warrant that kind of reaction.”
Reese sent this message to ‘Swifties’ on social media after she was criticized for the interview.

The pop megastar’s stalwart legion of fans were quick to target Reese and Nicole online.
Nicole dated Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce on and off for five years before Swift.
However, Swifties followed Nicole’s appearance on the podcast by taking aim at her once again, urging Kelce’s ex to move on from her former romance with the NFL player.
One wrote in X: ‘What do you mean there is no space for us to talk? WHY WOULD HE BE IN A RELATIONSHIP IS IT DUMB?’
Another said: “This girl needs to move on, she’s in a happier place now.”
‘Why are you talking about him? Let’s move on,” said a third.
A fourth sentence: “When your ex has a new serious relationship, there is no more room for you.”
While one simply concluded: “She’s embarrassing herself terribly.”
