Angel Reese has revealed she was sometimes “overwhelmed” by the whirlwind summer following LSU’s national title win over Iowa.
Reese scored 15 points in the Hawkeyes’ 102-85 breakout as the Lady Tigers captured the school’s first-ever NCAA women’s basketball championship.
She has since capitalized on the media attention gained from coverage of her Caitlin Clark taunts; appearing in Sports Illustrated and signed a NIL deal with Baton Rouge Mercedes Benz, among others.
Reese told People that her newfound fame has largely been a positive experience.
“It’s a blessing, honestly. I kind of embraced it. People look up to me,” she said. ‘I mean, it’s a fast life that I live. I think I must mature quickly.

“I will go down in history for doing what I did, and our team will go down in history for winning. I’m glad we were able to do that for Louisiana.
With fame come obligations and a reality that differs from that of the layman. Now Reese is no longer able to enjoy the life of a typical college student.
“I don’t party, I don’t go out, I just live my life,” she said. “I’m not really on campus much just because of my security work reasons. So I stay in my apartment and my teammates come over and we go eat.
“We’ll cook or whatever, have fun, watch movies, listen to music, whatever. TIC Tac.’
Reese has 2.1 million followers on the platform and recently posted a video with rapper Latto.
She uploaded a video with Grizzlies star Ja Morant on the day of LSU’s championship parade in Baton Rouge.

Amid the chaos that sometimes engulfs his life, Reese has found solace in his faith.
“I’ve been through so much and I think the only way to get out of it is to take time with God and give him his time. That’s something I’ve been emphasizing this year.
Reese joined student-athlete Olivia Dunne at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party in Manhattan last month. Both appeared in the magazine. Reese shot in Los Angeles while Dunne was photographed in Puerto Rico.
