After that, Reese will face college rival Caitlin Clark when the Chicago Sky takes on Iowa on Sunday in a highly anticipated WNBA showdown.
In the first meeting between the two, who were arch rivals in college, Clark’s Fever team emerged victorious, but Sky’s Chennedy Carter became the main topic of conversation after controlling Clark off the ball.
Carter appeared to yell ‘You bitch’ before tackling her and Reese, who was on the sidelines, jumped out of his seat to cheer on the move.
The incident sparked much debate among WNBA fans, and both Clark and Reese helped bring interest in the league to a new level.
Reese also caused a stir this week by stating that she thought practice to prepare for the WNBA would be more difficult than it has been so far.
“Kim Mulkey (LSU coach) prepared me for this moment,” Reese said. CBS Sports Headquarters. ‘At LSU, our practice was like four hours long. We were ready, we were working.
“I thought training was going to be harder. I think I was really prepared. I haven’t had any surprises from the WNBA yet.”
Reese also tweeted about that on Thursday, responding to a fan who said practice wasn’t four hours every day at LSU.
“Not every day, BUT FROM SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER IT USED TO HAVE ME DEAD,” she wrote. ‘BBut look at me now, I think it was all worth it.’
