Angel Di Maria has confirmed he will not extend his stay at Juventus beyond the 2022/2023 campaign in a heartfelt farewell message to fans.
The 35-year-old joined the Italian giants last summer on a one-year deal with an option to extend his deal for a further twelve months.
However, Di Maria will move on to new pastures after a frustrating injury-plagued season.
Juventus recorded their worst league result in 11 years (7th place) during Di Maria’s stay and the Argentine star admits he leaves the Allianz Arena with a ‘bitter taste in his mouth’ having not been in able to bring the club back to its former glories.
“I have come to the end of a difficult and complicated period,” Di Maria wrote on Instagram.

Di Maria’s next steps are unclear although his priority is to stay in Europe in order to increase his chances of selection for the Argentina squad at the 2024 Copa America tournament.
Many top clubs have been linked with a move for the World Cup winner, including Inter Milan, Benfica, Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal.
