Ange Postecoglou delivered his verdict after Tottenham defender Cristian Romero earlier retweeted a viral post criticising the club’s travel plans for returning international players.
Romero appeared to criticise his club’s previous travel arrangements following the international break when his official X account interacted with a post which claimed Spurs players had not returned on private jets following the recent international break.
The 26-year-old initially reposted – and then deleted – a post from an Argentinian journalist claiming Spurs “gave an advantage” to rivals Arsenal in their 1-0 north London derby defeat at the weekend.
The match was the first for both teams after the international break and ended with Mikel Arteta’s side securing victory when Brazilian defender Gabriel got past Romero to score from a corner.
Romero initially interacted with the viral tweet which read: ‘the only Premier League club to have had its players return from their national teams without their own logistics (organised by the club)’, meaning their ‘players arrived with less rest than the others’.

Romero played in Tottenham’s north London derby defeat at the weekend to rivals Arsenal.
Now Spurs boss Postecoglou has claimed he only became aware of his player’s online activity after the game in which Romero played 90 minutes alongside fellow centre-back Micky van de Ven.
“They mentioned it to me (after the game), but they didn’t mention it to me before the game,” the Spurs manager said.
“All the players returned on Thursday for Sunday’s match. Nothing had been mentioned before the match.”
Travel responsibilities for international matches lie with national associations and Spurs were happy to have Romero return on flights proposed by Argentina after missing a World Cup qualifier in Colombia on Tuesday.
Romero had been with the Argentine national team on an international mission and the national team was in charge of organizing his return to England.
Postecoglou had previously designated Thursday as a day off and the players were not expected to train until Friday.
Some clubs are offering private trips to their players to get them back faster and Arsenal’s Brazilians were at the training ground on Thursday.
Tottenham have previously provided private travel in certain circumstances but opted not to do so on this occasion, much to Romero’s initial disdain.
Spurs, meanwhile, will be back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to face Coventry in the third round of the Carabao Cup, just days after Postecoglou claimed he will end the club’s trophy drought this season.
