Ange Postecoglou has insisted that the personal abuse from some Tottenham fans after the defeat at Bournemouth will not mark or deter him, but will only make him more determined to find solutions.

The Spurs boss, who tangled with fans in the away game after the final whistle at the Vitality Stadium, took responsibility for a recent run of one win in six.

“It doesn’t hurt,” Postecoglou said. ‘I’m determined and that’s it. I don’t want to say it’s unacceptable because, like I said, it is what it is.

‘I’ve lived in this world long enough to know that when people aren’t happy, they express their opinions and I’m never going to hide.

‘I will never shirk that responsibility, that’s fine. I’ll join in.

‘Is it pretty? No, because I’m not just a manager, I’m a human being like everyone else and none of us like to hear that kind of thing, but it is what it is.

A flight attendant stopped him and later said he “got some pretty decent feedback” about the game.

‘It doesn’t disappoint me, it doesn’t frustrate me, it doesn’t make me angry. “I am as determined as ever to do well, not because of that but because of my determination to bring success to the football club.”

As to whether he thought the fans still supported him, he replied: “They’re not behind me, they’re behind the club.” I have no interest in who is behind me.

“You have to imagine those traveling to Bournemouth are pretty hardcore fans, they weren’t happy with what they saw, they felt they needed to give me some feedback, I took that on board and we moved on.” .

“The fans are the fans, they are committed to this club, whoever is in charge, whatever the playing group. They will feel what they feel, whether or not they can see what we are trying to do. I can’t materially change that without them There is evidence in the field that they can see.

“If they can’t see it right now, it’s up to me to make sure they can see it.”

Spurs next face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, with Ben Davies the latest addition to a long injury list after injuring his hamstring in the 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

Postecoglou hopes that Cristian Romero has a chance to return from injury.
