Chiefs coach Andy Reid warned his players to be “smart” at their Super Bowl parade a year after Jaylen Watson left the team’s Super Bowl celebrations in a wheelchair.
Watson, who was filmed drinking a large portion from a bottle of Hennessy, was apparently so drunk after the Chiefs’ victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII that he couldn’t walk.
And Reid doesn’t want that to happen again on Wednesday, judging by a virtual press conference gave the day before.
Reporter Pete Sweeney asked the coach: “How much of the message is ‘let’s have fun, but maybe not too much fun?'”
Reid replied: ‘That was mentioned a couple of times. It’s great to have fun. But be smart.

After last year’s parade, Watson posted to X a photo of himself slumped in a wheelchair while being carried away by a security guard.
‘Kingdom of Bosses!!! “You were all responsible for this,” he wrote, before quoting the Beastie Boys. ‘YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS.’
Immediately after their 25-22 victory on Sunday, the Chiefs headed to the Las Vegas Strip to celebrate their victory over the 49ers.

Patrick Mahomes greets fans at Disneyland in traditional post-Super Bowl appearance
Meanwhile, his brother Jason was seen hilariously dancing while wearing a Mexican wrestling mask as he continued to make the most of his off-season.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes told ABC News at Disneyland: “Those two brothers, man.” They are the life of the party wherever they go.
As for Watson, the cornerback recorded two tackles against San Francisco and can expect to perform better during this year’s celebrations.
The parade begins at 11am CT/12pm ET, beginning on 6th Street at the Kansas City River Market.
