Andy Murray withdraws from French Open with Briton set to focus on grass season ahead of Wimbledon
Andy Murray has withdrawn from the French Open and the British star is now ready to focus his attentions on the grass-court season in preparation for Wimbledon.
The 36-year-old had wondered if he would play at Roland Garros after suffering first-round exits on clay in Monte Carlo and Madrid.
Murray had rebounded from the first two outings of the Masters 1000 events by winning the Challenger event in Aix-en-Provence.
The result marked his first title since 2019.
Murray was then beaten by Italy’s Fabio Fognini in straight sets at the Masters 1000 in Rome, before losing 6-3, 6-0 to former French Open champion Stan Wawrinka at the Bordeaux Challenger on Wednesday.
