Andy Murray will open his grass campaign on Monday at Surbiton amid more signs he is looking to play until 2024.
The two-time Wimbledon champion is in the process of agreeing a deal that will see Scottish doubles player Jonny O’ Mara constantly traveling around the tour with him as a partner and coaching adviser next year.
Murray hasn’t played since a heavy loss to Stan Wawrinka in a clay-court Challenger event in Bordeaux, which precipitated his decision to skip the French Open and focus on grass.
His first opponent in the Lexus Challenger to be held in south-west London will be one of the tour’s forgotten men, Hyeon Chung from Korea.
The 27-year-old reached the Australian Open semi-finals in 2018 alongside Briton Kyle Edmund, and like Edmund has struggled with serious injury problems in recent years.

After undergoing back surgery, he completely missed two and a half years of touring and has only just returned to action. Currently unranked, he uses an exemption to participate in tournaments.
