Influencer Jilly Cross, 29, and former Rangers footballer Andy Halliday, 32, tied the knot at a Glasgow registry office last week before celebrating with a reception at Jilly's parents' home.

A Scottish football WAG bucked the trend when she tied the knot last week, opting for a small wedding celebration at her parents’ home rather than a glitzy affair in an exotic location.

Influencer Jilly Cross, 29, and former Rangers and Hearts footballer Andy Halliday, 32, shocked fans on Monday when they revealed on social media that they had tied the knot just days earlier.

The couple, who have been together for 10 years, tied the knot at a Glasgow register office before heading to Jilly’s parents’ home for an intimate reception with just 30 guests.

As the head of fashion brand Dula, glamorous Jilly ditched high-end wedding dress designers to wear one of her own gowns for her big day, completing the chic outfit with a pair of her mother’s 1990s Chanel shoes.

Jilly opted for a white drop-waist dress with a bodice and full skirt, pairing it with a cream satin blazer, also from her own brand at a reasonable price.

In a TikTok post, she said: “I’m getting married, surprise, and this is the outfit I’m wearing so let me show you. It’s the new Dula so it can be my new look, just registry office vibes.”

Jilly showed off the dress in another TikTok post, adding the caption: “Wearing your own design on your wedding day is fun @dula.”

Jilly and Andy also rejected the example set by some of their high-profile peers when they were driven to and from the registry office in Jilly’s uncle’s black cab.

Collectively, Jilly’s TikTok clips giving fans a glimpse into her celebrations have been viewed more than two million times in just three days.

The couple’s simple vibe was equally reflected in their menu, which included mozzarella sticks, penne arrabbiata and fries as starters, mains and sides.

Each chose a signature drink for the celebration: Jilly selected Aperol Spritz and Andy opted for Moretti beer.

After the meal, which took place at a long table in a small marquee in Jilly’s parents’ garden, the couple danced the night away with their guests.

For the flowers, Jilly and Andy chose Glasgow florist Olive, run by Nicola Cameron, while Scottish wedding planner Laura McCranor helped bring the couple’s “vision” to life, creating what Jilly described as “the perfect day.”

Speaking to SunLaura McCranor revealed that Jilly and Andy were inspired by the 1990s film Father of the Bride when decorating the marquee.

She said: ‘The wedding, held at the bride’s family home, radiated warmth and intimacy, surrounded by the love of her closest family.

‘The details, from the décor to the personal touches, reflect the timeless charm and whimsical romance of the classic film and the couple’s 10-year love story.’

But while the wedding was certainly homey and relaxed, it wasn’t short on the customizations that help make a couple’s big day memorable.

Laura added: ‘As for the decor, we had personalised napkins and slippers that said The Hallidays with cute little doodles of lobsters. They both love the show Friends so this inspired us.’

Fans of the couple were quick to comment on Jilly’s wedding day posts, with several taking the opportunity to admire the couple’s approach.
