A father-of-three has died on his dream interstate holiday as his family battle to bring his remains home.
Andrew Congdon, 30, was traveling through South Australia to visit the places he had grown up as a child.
He was due to fly back to his wife and children in Hillston, central western New South Wales, on New Year’s Eve when tragedy struck and he died.
Bella Page, a close family friend and Mr Congdon’s neighbor for six years, told Daily Mail Australia that Mr Congdon was a “great father” with several passions.
‘He loved working on cars. He was a car enthusiast. “He loved fishing, being with family and friends,” he said.
“Overall, great guy.”
The family was left grieving the monumental loss, without the financial means to bring the body home.
Mrs. Page said her youngest son is “struggling to cope.”

Ms Page has launched a GoFundMe to help her best friend bring Mr Congdon’s remains to his family.
She wrote that her closest friend had to take time off work to support her “devastated” children.
