Andrew Garfield has revealed how Jessica Chastain ‘rearranged’ her filming schedule so she could visit her dying mother Lynn.
Lynn succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2019 in England, during production of Andrew and Jessica’s film The Eyes Of Tammy Faye.
However, Andrew, 41, was able to leave the set in North Carolina and fly back to the UK to be with his mother in her final days.
Jessica and Searchlight Pictures executive David Greenbaum made adjustments to the filming schedule to allow for Andrew’s travel.
He recalled how “surprising” it was that David and “Jessica rearranged the schedule at the last minute: They suspended filming for a few days so I could come back and be with my mom for 10 days,” via People.

The Eyes Of Tammy Faye starred Andrew and Jessica, respectively, as televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, disgraced husband and wife.
Based on a 2000 documentary narrated by RuPaul, the film was released in 2021 and earned Jessica an Academy Award for Best Actress.
Andrew recalled the warm bond he cultivated with Jessica on the set of the film, during the emotionally tense time of his mother’s illness.
‘We had deep conversations, because we were both getting to know each other as people. “I’m really very grateful for that time with her because it was the time when my mother was very sick and finally passed away,” he said.
When Lynn came to the end of his life, one of Andrew’s other co-stars, Vincent D’Onofrio, urged him to fly to his deathbed in England.
“Because he had his own experience with a loss that he couldn’t recover from, he said, ‘Go. You have to go,” Andrew recalled in his new interview. “And I said, ‘Well, I know I have to go and thank you.'”
Andrew’s warm comments about Jessica come after she deleted a controversial post on X, formerly Twitter, complaining about the malfunctioning in-flight entertainment system on her recent trip on Jet Blue.
‘Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. “My flight cost $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you,” he wrote in the post.
“It’s strange that I paid that for their in-flight entertainment system that didn’t work during my 6-hour flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”
Social media users quickly began criticizing her for the post, which they deemed “petty” and “tone deaf” in light of her wealth and fame.
When Jet Blue responded to her original post complaining about the flight, Jessica responded with a screenshot of messages she apparently exchanged with an airline representative after her flight.
She was informed that all passengers who had to deal with a “TV outage” received the same $15 payment, but she insisted on a more generous refund.
“I understand, but I spent $1,500 on the flight and so did my husband,” Jessica wrote. “There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”

She was then caught up in a furious backlash over the “shameful” outbreak, as some observers noted that many Americans had just seen their lives devastated by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
As the backlash grew, with one fan describing her behavior as “incredibly funny and strange,” Jessica deleted the offending post.
