Andrew Garfield admitted to Amelia Dimoldenberg that he thinks they could have gone on a real date, but that their Chicken Shop Date had ruined their chance.

They had previously gone viral last year, after several clips of them flirting while Amelia interviewed Andrew on the red carpet had fans begging for a date.
And Andrew admitted during their chat that he would have taken Amelia on a real date, but then crushed fans’ hopes when he added that the cameras had now “fucked up” the likelihood of that happening.

Amelia denied: ‘No, no. I think it’s interesting that we…’ before Andrew interrupted her to point at the surrounding cameras and ask, ‘If this wasn’t here, do you think we’d actually go on a date?’
He continued: ‘Do you think this has ruined the fact that we could have gone on a date at some point, maybe?’
Amelia admitted, “Well, I don’t know,” prompting Andrew to press further and admit, “Okay, but take out all the practicalities and logic.” In fact, I think maybe we could have. Without all this. But this is…’
Amelia replied: “Because you’re afraid,” while Andrew tried to defend himself: “I’m a very private person in my private life.”
The pair stared at each other until they both suddenly burst into laughter, when Amelia declared, “I’m more reserved than you actually.”
A mocking Andrew prompted: ‘Tell me. Come on, I’ll wait for you,’ to which Amelia responded: ‘Have you ever seen me with someone? No.’
But Andrew, smiling, replied: “That doesn’t mean you’re more private, it just means you’re not with anyone,” insulting Amelia.

Captioning the teasing shot, she wrote: “The one you’ve been waiting for… My date with Andrew Garfield is next Friday :).”

When asked why it would be a problem, he said: “I don’t think we should explore this.”
Amelia replied that she was “not even asking you” before saying “You’re obsessed with me.”
Andrew flirtatiously replied: ‘That’s what I’m saying. I’m afraid of what it could become and I’m not prepared for it,” before she responded: “Oh, okay, well, I am.”
