A September 5, 2010 article, “…fury as police cash in on car phone image,” said Andrew Perry, a CPS lawyer, may have been in contempt of court by making a submission using a evidence image of footballer Jermain Defoe using a mobile phone while driving, before the case had been heard.
In fact, the image referred to a speeding case, prosecuted by Mr. Perry, which had already concluded; A mobile phone case mentioned in the article had not yet started. We’re happy to set the record straight.
