Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, daughter of First Dates star Fred, reaches final 10m platform at Olympic Games

Fred Sirieix’s daughter, Andrea, has reached the final of the women’s 10m Platform with her partner Lois Toulson.

The daughter of the First Dates star, who is just 16, is Team GB’s youngest diver, competing in her first Olympics at the Tokyo Aquatics Center.

Andrea and her partner finished in the top 10 in the semi-finals to advance to Thursday’s final, which kicked off at 7am – with Spendolini-Sirieix eighth and Toulson ninth previously.

Andrea also impressed in the preliminaries – showing off her pike dive while keeping her knees straight and body bent at the waist during the challenging competition – finishing in 10th place overall out of 30 entrants.

Fred wished his daughter continued success in the run-up to her competition on the women’s 10m platform in Tokyo.

The teen shared a photo of Andrea in the Olympic pool and seemed unfazed by the momentous occasion as she beamed in her blue swimsuit from the Games.

Andrea received the Young Sports Personality of the Year award at Blue Peter last December.

And Tokyo will be one of the first times Fred will not be able to watch his daughter compete, as spectators are not allowed in the stadiums due to the pandemic.

Sportster: ‘Good luck mon [duck emoji] we are all so proud of you ❤️ Have fun x,” the First Dates maître d’ gushed last month alongside snaps of Andrea at the Games the year before

The TV personality told iNews: ‘This year is the first year that I can’t travel and I have to say that the most unnerving feeling I’ve ever had was watching her dive at the Diving World Cup in Tokyo in May this year.

‘Normally because you’re there, you feel more about it, but watching TV makes you feel completely powerless as a parent, that’s very difficult.

“Watching football or a 100m race can be aloof enough to enjoy it, but watching my daughter in a game like the Olympics will be an experience of the looks. I don’t know if I should sit, stand or turn around.”

Fred shares daughter Andrea and son Lucien, 10, with his ex Alessandra Spendolini, with whom he was together for 12 years.

Overseas fans are completely barred from participating.

But there will still be a subdued atmosphere, as organizers have ruled that ‘masks must be worn on sites at all times’ and ‘speaking or shouting in a loud voice is prohibited’.

Spectators will not be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test to enter venues and there will be a raffle of existing ticket holders to decide who will attend.
