‘I’m busy doing my thing’: Andrea McLean reveals she’s ‘rubbish’ at keeping in touch with her former Loose Women co-stars and admits she was ‘nervous’ about leaving… 2 years after quitting the panel show

She quit the panel show two years ago.

And now, Andrea McLean, 53, has revealed that she is ‘rubbish’ at keeping in touch with her former Loose Women co-stars and admitted she was ‘nervous’ about leaving the daytime programme.

The former TV presenter – who is now focused on her website, This Girl Is On Fire, as well as her writing career – told how she messages Brenda Edwards, Denise Welch, Linda Robson and Saira Khan.

Real talk: Andrea McLean, 53, has revealed she is ‘rubbish’ at keeping in touch with her former Loose Women co-stars and admitted she was ‘nervous’ about leaving the daytime programme

Andrea told The Sun: ‘I stay in contact with some of the Loose Women ladies, in the same way that I only get to talk to some when I was there – but not hugely.

‘Mainly because I’m busy, working and doing my thing. Brenda and I message, Denise, Linda Robson, Saira.

‘I was rubbish keeping in touch when I was there and I’m just as rubbish now.

‘But what’s nice it doesn’t matter because with your real friends it doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen each other for years.’

Elsewhere, Andrea confessed she was nervous about leaving Loose Women because she’d done the job for a long time and it had become her ‘identity.’

The entrepreneur explained how she sat herself down and acknowledged that she is more than just her job title, and wanted more than anything to help people.

Andrea insisted she would urge anyone who is unsure about making a change, to sit down and write a ‘what if all goes wrong’ list and change it to a ‘what if it all goes right’ list.

Not a big deal: ‘But what’s nice it doesn’t matter because with your real friends it doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen each other for years’

Back in April, Andrea revealed she was dropped from all her brand endorsement deals on the very day she announced her Loose Women departure.

The TV personality admitted the shock move felt like a financial ‘punch in the stomach’ and forced her to live off her savings for the next eight months.

Vowing to never return in her former role on the daytime show, she had featured as a member of the panel for 13 years but insisted she’s proud for ‘leaving with grace’.
