Johnny Depp has been praised by Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli ahead of the actor’s appearance at the upcoming Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration concerts on July 15, 17 and 19.
Ahead of the shows, Andrea, 65, took to Instagram to praise Depp, 61, hailing him as a “rock star.”
She wrote of the Edward Scissorhands actor: ‘A disarmingly charming actor who has brought countless iconic characters to life on the big screen, this eclectic artist’s musical talents are equally intense – a genuine rock star loved and applauded everywhere.’
‘I fondly remember playing and singing with Johnny Depp when he visited my home in Tuscany.’
“We are happy to announce that this unexpected couple will be performing once again, and this time in public, as their fans will be delighted to hear,” he continued.

In addition to being an acclaimed actor, Depp is a guitarist and singer: he will release the album 18 with Jeff Beck in July 2022.
The performances will take place in Bocelli’s hometown of Lajatico, Italy, as the artist celebrates 30 years of music.
Bocelli previously announced that stars including Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Jon Batiste, Russell Crowe, Sofia Vergara and David Foster will also make guest appearances.
Christian Nodal, Sofia Carson, Laura Pausini, Tiziano Ferro, Zucchero, Giorgia and her children Matteo and Virginia will also join.
Fans who attend will also be able to enjoy musicians Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Lang Lang, Aida Garifullina, Bryn Terfel and Nadine Sierra.
The concert is being filmed and directed by Sam Wrench, who also directed Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
Following his summer shows, Bocelli will embark on a fall tour of North America beginning in Monterrey, Mexico, on September 30.
It will end on December 21 in Los Angeles.

In addition to his big screen achievements, Depp is a guitarist and singer.
He recorded an album with Jeff Beck, who passed away in January 2023.
Depp recently performed in London in tribute to Jeff on what would have been his 80th birthday.
