‘It’s a muscle that squeezes my sciatic nerve and runs down my leg. I thought I was going to have to have a hip replacement. Thank God my hips are fine.’
She exercises the pain with a personal trainer: ‘I have to work on my butt and my hips. I have to work my butt and work my hips. I just do it every day.’

MacDowell said thanks to the exercises ‘It doesn’t hurt anymore. It’s a miracle, it really is.’
The news broke while speaking with Barrymore about aging in Hollywood.
Andie shared that she left Los Angeles, where women are put under a microscope.
“I moved to South Carolina and I live with a community that has a lot of people my age, so it’s very easy to socialize,” the movie icon said.
Andie also said that she likes to stay in shape.
‘I like to eat. Yes. I enjoy eating,” said the St Elmo’s Fire star.
‘I like to eat, but I love to exercise. That is my great fortune because I have had friends who get frustrated because they don’t enjoy it, but I really enjoy it.
“But more recently, what happened when I was working out last season when I did the Peloton like crazy and it’s not appropriate for my body, and I ended up having knee and hip problems, and I didn’t realize what was happening? ?, I thought I was literally falling apart like I had to get new parts.
‘But the good news is that my pieces are fine. My knees are fine except for aging. They have aged. Now I am training very hard doing physical therapy. I’m not falling apart. Well, thank God.

Andie also announced that she will be a grandmother again as her son will soon have a child.
Andie has son Justin Qualley, 38, as well as daughters Rainey Qualley, 35, and Margaret Qualley, 30.
‘My son is about to have another one, so I’m going to have 3 girls. So now I have a life. I created a life. I figured it out, you know, it took me a while,” the actor shared.
As for being an empty nest, she doesn’t love it.
‘Everything changes. It’s a difficult change, I assure you. You hear about how a lot of moms react when, a lot of times, people like to be happy, you know, be free or whatever,” Andie said.
However, the Hollywood stalwart didn’t feel any freer.

One of their three children is Margaret Qualley, seen here on January 5 in Beverly Hills.

Margaret stars in the Oscar-nominated film The Substance
‘I didn’t have that feeling. I still don’t have that feeling,’ he said.
‘I had to work very hard to achieve my independence, Margaret basically told me I needed to get a life. She was right.
‘She’s so old because, you know, they used to follow me to the bathroom. Yes, they follow you to the bathroom and then we would fuck, I would take a bath, and they wanted to be there with me. Then they would put their feet in the bathtub and we would sit and talk.
‘Those days are gone. I’m dying for my adult daughters to come to the bathroom with me. Let me get in the bathtub and sit there with my feet in the water. I would love that, but they, you know, don’t want to do that. And she has a husband. She has a husband. How inconvenient.
‘Yes, great husband, really wonderful, you know, and I’m happy. I’m happy. I’m really, I mean ecstatic. I mean, my kids are doing great. My daughter Rainey just had a baby.
Tune in on Thursday, January 23 for The Drew Barrymore Show.
Earlier this month, MacDowell said he believes he’s been “lucky” throughout his career.
The movie star has starred in a multitude of big-budget films throughout her career, but Andie doesn’t take anything for granted.
She told PEOPLE: ‘It’s a miracle he made it. I’m not going to take anything away, but I had to overcome some really huge obstacles.’
Andie has also retained her passion for making movies, despite her fame and success.
The star reflected: ‘I get so excited when I walk on set.
‘It’s nice at my age and after all this time to have that feeling of joy. “I’m very aware of that, so I try to share it and tell everyone how lucky we are.”
Despite her success, Andie still has doubts from time to time.
The Hollywood star explained: ‘I still struggle. Sometimes I am very hard on myself. I am my absolute worst critic. But sometimes I feel like I’m flying.’
Meanwhile, Andie recently claimed she feels “too old” to fit Hollywood beauty standards.
The actress has enjoyed a successful career in the film business, but Andie feels that female stars continue to face unhealthy pressures.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Andie recalled: ‘I tried it on and the dress was really tight around my waist. It looks great, but I woke up and knew it wasn’t right for me.
‘I wanted to wear something that was comfortable. And of course, I was immediately embarrassed for not being able to wear this dress.
But that’s Hollywood. It’s this expectation, as you see in (daughter Margaret Qualley’s film The Substance), of being something that you can’t be anymore and that was easier at a certain point in your life, but I can’t.’
