The non-binary actor, 48, who previously played the reviled Che Diaz in the Sex and the City reboot, filed for marriage dissolution on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences, according to TMZ.
According to the documents, Ramirez asked to block the court’s ability to award spousal support to either party.
Their separation date is listed as January 2018, although their separation was not announced until 2021.
In announcing the split, Sara wrote: ‘We continue to love and support each other in the way we choose to forge our new individual paths.

In January it was revealed that Ramírez had been dropped from And Just Like That because his character Che Díaz was a “waste of airtime,” according to inside sources, who dismissed the actor’s claim that being pro-Palestinian cost them the role.
Ramirez, who uses they/them pronouns, hinted that they will not be returning for the third season of the Sex and the City spinoff in a series of posts shared on Instagram that month.
They strongly suggested that their time on the show was over as they claimed that “casting directors and agents are blacklisting actors and workers who post anything in support of the Palestinians and Gaza to ensure they will not work again.” .
But a source close to the show ridiculed the suggestion, claiming that Ramirez’s head had been “on the chopping block since last season” because his character “no longer had value” and was “annoying.”

The character was accused of being the “worst” of the series, in which Miranda was reunited on screen with Carrie Bradshaw and Charlotte York, played by Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, respectively.
Viewers found the character “shocked” and accused them of “(taking) non-binary representation back 70 years.”
