An older man was left in a critical condition after being allegedly threatened by a man and a woman who use a samurai sword during a violent crime.
The duo were charged with following two alleged armed robberies and a house invasion in the Townsville area on Friday afternoon and evening.
The offense would begin when a taxi driver picked up a man and two women from a location on Charters Towers Road and drove them to Pallarenda, a suburb on Townsville beach.
According to police, the male passenger asked the 25-year-old taxi driver to get out of the car, but he refused.

The man then slapped the driver's face and a female passenger pulled a knife from the back seat and forced the driver to flee the car.
After the hijacking, the trio drove along Cape Pallarenda Road before leaving the vehicle in the Jezzine barracks shortly thereafter.
At 9:30 pm a 23-year-old had parked his car at a gym in Hyde Park when he was allegedly approached by a man who threatened him with a samurai sword.
The man then allegedly drove away with the victim's car and a female passenger.
Police say they saw the same vehicle driving along Palmerston Street, while the male driver swung a samurai sword out of the window.
They tried to keep the car in the tracks, but he ran away.
The police continued to chase the vehicle until it allegedly crossed a medium-sized lane and drove on the wrong side of the road.
At around 10 o'clock in the afternoon the car would have been driven to Cranbrook and the passengers fled.
A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman appear on Saturday in Courts Town in Townsville
A search through the area was immediately launched by the police and they received reports that a man was trying to barricade himself inside a house.
Agents forced to enter the house and found a 69-year-old with serious injuries.
They will claim that the older man, who did not know the man and the woman, was the victim of a serious attack.
He was taken to the hospital with several head injuries and other injuries.
The police took the man and the woman in custody where they have since been charged.
A 23-year-old man has been accused of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, serious bodily injury, ordinary assault, dangerous operation of a vehicle, intentional intrusion and intentional damage.
A 20-year-old woman has been accused of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, serious bodily injury, intentional damage and is coming home on purpose.
They will both appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on Saturday.
