Tom Daley has reflected on the “special” bond he has with his father Robbie in an emotional clip.
The 30-year-old Olympic diver, who is competing in his fifth Olympics in Paris, said he thinks about his father “every day” after he passed away when he was just 17.
His father, Robbie, died at age 40 in 2011 after a five-year battle with brain cancer.

He also hoped that his father would never regret sacrificing his life for Tom’s early career and passion.
She said: “It’s very nice to be able to see him again. Knowing how much he gave up and how much he sacrificed, it’s very special. I hope he never regrets that.”
‘He had the opportunity to watch me compete at the 2008 Olympics, which is one of the reasons why I was destined to qualify for those Olympics so young, because he had the opportunity to see it, because in 2012 he was already gone.
‘So he never got to see that Olympic medal, he never got to see me have kids and then win an Olympic gold medal.
“Now our son Robbie is named after him, so we think about him every day.”
Tom first appeared for Great Britain at Beijing 2008 before winning bronze medals at London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Despite retiring after winning gold at Tokyo 2020, the swimmer came out of retirement to take the plunge in front of his children in Paris.
Tom and Noah Williams will compete in Paris on July 29.

Tom took up knitting as he watched the women’s 3m synchronised springboard final at the Aquatics Centre on day one of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Saturday.
The diver knitted a GB jersey for the team.
Williams teamed with Daley to win silver at the World Championships in February, a victory that booked them a spot at the Olympics.
Unlike in Tokyo, Tom will not be appearing in the 10m individual platform event, instead focusing solely on the synchronised event.
Tom reportedly changed his mind about retiring last year after a visit to the Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs with his husband Lance and sons Robbie and Phoenix.
