An emotional David Moyes has thanked his side after guiding West Ham to their first European final since 1976.
The Hammers secured their place in the Europa Conference League final with a 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night, meaning they recorded a 3-1 aggregate win.
“For my staff, I thank them all,” Moyes told BT Sport. “They have to put up with me pushing, nagging, little free time. If you want to play in Europe and be successful, the games come with that.
‘AZ Played a very good style, Dutch football is really good. They gave us a shock in the first leg, and I knew if I didn’t set us up in a deeper block, they might punish us.
“In the future, the idea is to be better. We brought in a lot of international players to improve, but we really struggled this season. We had to go back to what wins you, and luckily we did.
