An Australian woman shocks listeners by revealing that she is willing to miss her aunt’s funeral to attend Taylor Swift’s concert in Melbourne.

An Adelaide woman revealed to a local radio station on Thursday that she is willing to miss her aunt’s funeral to attend one of Taylor Swift’s concerts in Melbourne.

Breakfast show 107.1 SAFM in Adelaide asked listeners to call in to declare what they would be willing to miss out on for tickets to the pop star’s Eras concert.

Several callers said they would be missing work shifts and weddings, however listener Khiara was announced as the winner after revealing she would not be attending a loved one’s funeral.

The South Australian from Hillbank told SAFM: “I’m a big Swiftie, I’d do anything, well clearly if I missed a funeral.” The body will be airlifted from Queensland, it’s really important, there will be a lot of family members there and I’m prepared to bother everyone to leave.

“Respectfully, seeing Taylor Swift is once in a lifetime,” he added.

To get tickets, Khiara had to convince her shocked mother, Jodie, to give her her blessing to miss the funeral, which is expected to take place in Adelaide on Friday at 1:00 pm ACDT (1:30 pm AEDT). .

Jodie resentfully agreed before saying she was “disappointed.”

To the surprise of listeners, Khiara proceeded to ask if her mother would travel with her to Melbourne to look after her one-year-old son.

It comes after Taylor, 34, arrived in Australia to kick off her long-awaited Eras Tour.

The global megastar touched down in Melbourne on Thursday morning at approximately 12:40am and was greeted by a legion of die-hard Swifties.

The Cruel Summer singer traveled in style aboard a Bombardier Global 6000, a luxurious private jet with the capacity to carry up to 17 passengers.

Taylor was whisked to her accommodation after her 12-hour flight, where she will rest until taking to the stage in front of 85,000 screaming fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.

The performance will kick off the first of Taylor’s seven sold-out shows in Australia.

It comes after Taylor, 34, arrived in Australia to kick off her long-awaited Eras Tour.
