An Australian woman has revealed she was left “extremely horrified” when she discovered her child was fathered by a “serial” sperm donor.

Dutch sperm donor Jonathan Meijer, 43, is the subject of Netflix documentary ‘The Man of 1,000 Sons’ after his obsession with donating his semen sparked concerns he may have fathered more than 1,000 babies.

On Monday, a woman named Laura appeared on KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show to reveal that Meijer was the father of her child.

Laura explained that she and her wife Kate used an international sperm bank to import the sperm donation to a clinic in the ACT and were able to get pregnant.

Presenters Jackie O Henderson and Kyle Sandilands asked Laura how she found out Meijer was the father of her child given that the identities of sperm donors are usually kept anonymous until the child turns 18.

“My partner and I were very horrified and shocked when we were told that there was a Facebook group looking for siblings. Obviously, we wanted to find siblings as soon as possible for our son,” said the mother.

As Laura was browsing Facebook groups to find brothers and sisters around the world for her son, a group member informed her.

‘(My son) was very young at the time and unfortunately someone said, “I’m very sorry to tell you this, but (Meijer) is a serial sperm donor in the Netherlands and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of children there.”

Jackie then asked if this was before the release of the Netflix special and Laura confirmed that it was before the documentary.

The hosts then wondered if Meijer had had other children in Australia.

“We haven’t found any more in Australia yet, but we estimate there are between 5 and 10, maybe 5 to 10 families in Australia,” Laura replied, leaving Jackie and Kyle in shock.

Last month, radio hosts were stunned when Meijer hung up on them during a heated interview on his show.

Kyle didn’t hold back during the confrontational interview, bluntly asking Meijer why he’s “addicted” to donating sperm, as it could lead to future inbreeding between his children.

“Why do you do this? What tells you that women want your seed? I think you’re addicted,” Kyle said bluntly.

Meijer, however, was having none of it, telling Kyle that she did it because she loved helping couples: “There’s a huge shortage. There are very few men who want to do it. I do a lot of helping.”

Kyle angrily replied, “You’re addicted to this! You’re addicted to masturbating… for women.”

Meijer then told the stars she was done with the chat and abruptly ended the call: “You know what? I’m done with this interview. Bye.”

Kyle told co-star Jackie O that Meijer was a “seed-spreading lunatic.”

Meijer is the subject of the recently released Netflix documentary The Man With 1000 Kids, which investigates the families who have had children with him.

He donated sperm on a large scale, defrauding dozens of parents and eleven clinics around the world.

In the explosive Netflix documentary investigating this “murky world”, the women told how they felt “betrayed” and “angry” after discovering how many other children the musician, now 43, had fathered.

But in an interview, Meijer, who has also been labelled a “public health risk” and a “narcissist”, claimed he had “no protection” as a private donor, making him “very vulnerable”.

Meijer maintained that there was “absolutely nothing wrong” with having hundreds of children.

However, one of the potential problems that could arise is inbreeding, if two of your children meet later in life and have children of their own, not realizing that they are genetic half-siblings.

Meijer was banned from donating sperm in the Netherlands in 2017 after it emerged he was the father of 102 children, born from donations made to 11 clinics across the country.

He continued to donate in other countries until 2023, when a woman and a foundation that supported her filed a civil lawsuit against Meijer, arguing that he was increasing the risk of incest for their children.

In his testimony, Meijer admitted to having fathered between 550 and 600 children; however, the court said he could have fathered as many as 1,000 on several continents.
