A woman was left furious after she was charged more than $6 for a can of Coca-Cola at a popular beachside restaurant.
Francesca was stunned by the cost after visiting the takeaway kiosk on Promenade Bondi Beach, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, with a friend on May 26.
He shared a photo of his receipt on Facebook showing he had been charged $6.60 for a 250ml can of Coca-Cola Zero and $9.35 for a 300ml bottle of Tropi Cool juice.
The total bill came to $16.19, and Francesca noted that it also included a 24-cent handling fee.
A spokesperson for Promenade Bondi Beach quickly clarified the matter and said Francesca had been charged the wrong price and had been refunded.

‘Jesus cried! What the hell is going on? This is amazing… a takeaway kiosk and not even a full size can of Coke!’ Francesa said.
Francesca said she couldn’t find a menu listing drink prices.
“I just expected it to cost the same as what it normally would if you got drinks at a place like that: no more than $10,” he said. yahoo.
Francesca said she immediately asked the staff if they had made a mistake.
The unhappy customer and her friend asked for a refund, which was provided by the venue.
“I honestly couldn’t believe that price, especially since you couldn’t even get a full-size can of Coke!” Francesca said.
Hundreds of social media users said they were not surprised by the high cost.
“Welcome to the eastern suburbs. You’ll pay over six dollars for terrible coffee,” one wrote.
“Daylight robbery,” added another.
Others defended the price and said Francesca should have thought about how much the drinks would cost before purchasing them.
“BYO (bring your own) water next time if you can’t afford it,” one wrote.
“Check the menu before and you won’t complain later,” another chimed in.
The customer bought the two drinks at the kiosk, an outdoor takeaway section on Promenade Bondi Beach (pictured) in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
A spokesperson for Promenade Bondi Beach told Daily Mail Australia the customer was charged an incorrect amount for the drink.
“One of our guests purchased two drinks from the Promenade Bondi Beach kiosk, including a 250ml can of Coca-Cola Zero, and due to a staff member’s error, the wrong price level was accidentally applied to the Coke “Cola Zero,” he said.
“When the error was identified, the guest was refunded the full amount of both drinks and the venue’s general manager apologized for the error.”
A 250ml can of Coca-Cola Zero sold at the kiosk costs customers $4.
The company also waives service charges for customers who purchase items at the kiosk.
Francesca said that while she understood that the food and drink prices at the venue were expensive, she was still shocked by the cost.
“I understand it’s in a place where they have to pay high rents etc and it’s on the beach, but I’ve lived in Bondi for four years and I have drinks in places like that all the time,” he said.
He claimed he was not told about the handling fee when he ordered the drinks and said he did not understand why he had to pay the extra charge if he was ordering takeaway.
Daily Mail understands that you were not charged for free handling and that the fee only applies to diners who order food and drink inside the venue.
The correct price was charged for the bottle of juice.
The kiosk, which is open from 6.30am to 3pm, serves customers hot and cold drinks, as well as other popular lunchtime snacks such as fish and chips.
According to the Promenade Bondi Beach website, non-alcoholic drinks at the dining room bar and beach bar cost diners between $8 and $15.
