Two boys have admitted to luring an 8-year-old boy into water-filled wells in Georgia and drowning him, as outraged lawyers argue the crime was racially motivated.

An 11-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, admitted in court on Wednesday that he played a role in the killing and was sentenced to two years in a detention center, the court said. WSB Television.

“This 11-year-old boy admitted under oath that he did, in fact, take Noah Bush to the clay pits, push him into the water and ultimately hold his head under water until he drowned,” said Bush family attorney Francys Johnson.

In July, an unnamed 10-year-old boy was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of concealing another person’s death and trespassing in the Bush case.

“My baby was eight years old and had a full life ahead of him,” said Demetrice Bush, Noah’s mother. “And two years is what the state of Georgia calls justice for an entire life that was lost.”

“There is no peace, there is no comfort, there is no closure for me. I will live with this for the rest of my life.”

Georgia law provides that a juvenile can receive a maximum of two years in prison.

Police initially said no foul play was suspected and that the eight-year-old boy took off his shoes, wandered into the off-limits area and into deeper water where he drowned.

However, the family hired the Davis Bozeman Johnson law group to investigate the second-grader’s death and the two boys were charged in July.

“There are people who think like this. They put up flags in their yards, they put up signs, they go on Facebook. They do it in front of their children as if they’re not absorbing all this. That’s the consequence of not standing up to hate,” Johnson said.

The 11-year-old girl’s mother, Natalie Hardison, reportedly attended Wednesday’s sentencing virtually because she is in jail.

She was arrested in July on a felony charge of making false statements during the investigation into Noah’s death, according to WJCL.

‘The adults who were involved, who helped deceive this family, should also be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.’
