Amy Dowden’s representatives issued a health update on Sunday after the dancer was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after filming Strictly Come Dancing.
The professional dancer collapsed backstage after finishing filming Saturday’s live show, meaning she missed Sunday’s results show, which is pre-recorded.
Amy, who missed the 2023 series of Strictly after being diagnosed with breast cancer, has now confirmed in a statement through her spokesperson that she was “feeling unwell” and that an ambulance was called as a “precaution”.
A spokesperson confirmed that she is “feeling much better” and would like to thank BBC fans and her Strictly family for supporting her.
A statement from Amy’s spokesperson said: “Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution.

It comes as her partner and JLS star JB Gill was forced to appear alone for Sunday night’s results show after she was taken to hospital.
At the start of the show, presenters Tess Daly and Claudia confirmed that Amy would not be appearing, Tess saying: “Amy can’t be with us for the show tonight.”
JB shared an Instagram message after the couple spent another week, writing ‘on behalf of @amydowden and myself.’
‘I just want to thank everyone for voting for us and wish us the best. We loved our performance on Saturday night and are SO grateful to be able to spend another week. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support.’
JB’s message was met with an outpouring of love for Amy from her co-stars and fans.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said on Sunday: “We were called shortly after 9pm on Saturday to a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.
‘An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult woman, was taken to Barnet Hospital for further care.
Moments earlier, the dancer had performed the Foxtrot to Toploader hit Dancing In The Moonlight with her famous partner, JLS star JB Gill.
But fans noticed that the dancer was partially seated during her last performance.
The pair rose to number five in the Strictly rankings after receiving a collective score of 32 from the show’s judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
Amy returned to the show after a year-long absence in September.
Her world fell apart when she was diagnosed with cancer the day after returning home from her honeymoon with her dancer husband Ben Jones in 2023.
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to send the professional dancer well wishes and a speedy recovery.
Ballroom dancer Wesh, 34, who is in remission after battling breast cancer, was taken to hospital by paramedics at around 9pm on Saturday.
Amy, who also battles Crohn’s disease, confirmed she was cancer-free in February.
Amy had found a lump in her breast the day before she flew to the Maldives.
While he hoped it could be cured through surgery, two months later in June, doctors found another type of cancer.
In what became the toughest year of her life, the professional dancer underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility treatment and nearly died from sepsis.
Amy, who also battles Crohn’s disease, confirmed she was cancer-free in February.
While he won’t be cleared for another five years and will still need treatment, he thanked his family and friends for their support amid his “most difficult year.”
Sharing a jubilant image with her Instagram followers, she wrote: ‘There is NO EVIDENCE OF ILLNESS! Words I dreamed of! My biggest achievement so far!
‘I won’t get the all-clear for another 5 years, especially with hormone-fueled cancer. But it was all worth it. Words I never thought I would hear at some point.
‘Very grateful for all the attention I received and continue to receive.
‘To my husband, family and friends who supported me unconditionally and to you! Thank you!’
He continued: ‘I will continue to need a monthly injection for five years and regular check-ups.
The Strictly Come Dancing star was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May 2023 in what became the most difficult year of her life.
‘Chemo and the past year have certainly taken their toll on my body, both physically and mentally, so I will be taking the next few months to heal and recover.
‘I have a lot to strive for and live for, and I’m so grateful to have another chance at life! Something I know not everyone understands. I certainly see life differently and my life has changed forever!
