Amy and Darren met in an acting class in 2001 and began dating a year later when they collaborated on the short film Pennies.
The couple got engaged in 2008 and welcomed daughter Aviana, now 14, two years later in 2010.
They had a long engagement and said they were in no rush to tie the knot, before exchanging vows in 2015 at a ranch outside Santa Barbara, California.
The actress said Seduce in 2016 that the couple finally decided to get married because Aviana ‘wanted a family wedding’.
Amy has also spoken glowingly about her husband and the love he feels for their daughter.
She said Maria Clara in 2018: ‘It’s sexy to watch him raise a little girl and teach her how a man should treat her in a charming way.’
And the actress, who has six Oscar nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, hopes to serve as a reminder to her daughter of her own potential.
“I want (Aviana) to know that it’s not just women who can fly, she can fly and she needs to find her own light. I know she’s on that path,” she said. Entertainment Tonight after her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2017.
“That’s something I have to remind her. No light that shines on me creates a shadow for her to fall upon.”

The comedy-horror film is scheduled to be released on December 6, 2024, and also stars Scoot McNairy, Mary Holland, and Jessica Harper.
