John Beard and his son Jayden draped their home in the colossal Old Glory flag to demonstrate their patriotism.

The 50-foot, 60-pound flag was a gift from a Marine veteran who served four tours in Iraq.

The Beards didn’t have a flagpole large enough to display the giant Old Glory, so they meticulously placed it atop their house.

“It’s very emotional for me. We love our country, that’s all. I just hope that for one day, on the Fourth of July, we can all come together and remember America,” John said. ZBRZ.

‘Ladder, rope and rigging, bring it up and place it crosswise, then unfold it, place it there and secure it, trying to be as respectful as possible to the flag.’

The Navy veteran who gave them the flag gave it to them as a parting gift when the family moved from Tennessee to Louisiana.

“We’re very good friends, he had the flag and he wanted to do something with it but he didn’t know what to do. So my son said to put it up in the house, so we did,” John said.

Jayden said Fox and friends He pitched in to help him and his father with the project.

John said the community response has been mostly positive, but some people have complained online about his display.

“Everyone was in favor,” Jayden said. “I love my country very much and I agree with my father’s decision to cover the house.”

“The flag really represents my freedom, everyone’s freedom of expression to be able to hang this flag without any repercussions.”

“In our neighborhood everyone loves it, it’s absolutely phenomenal. There’s been a bit of pushback online,” John said.
