She begins: ‘I’m making sandwiches for my boyfriend and I because we’re going on a hike tomorrow.
“And while I was doing this, it occurred to me that the French do something really weird with sandwiches that I think you guys would find weird, so I wanted to share it with you.”
Raising a knife to the camera, the social media star, who has more than 726,000 followers, continues: ‘This is butter. Obviously, I have half a whole baguette and what they make is like a classic ham, cheese and butter sandwich.
‘Literally just let yourself go. No mayonnaise. No mustard. Butter only.
‘I know you might be thinking that sounds gross, but it’s actually so good. It is healthy? Of course not.’
She laughs, before concluding: ‘So that’s what we eat here. Butter sandwiches with ham and cheese. When you think about it, it’s a little crazy.

And a third said, “It really baffles me that anyone can eat a sandwich without butter.”
But, despite the widespread uproar from onlookers, Amanda doubled down on her claims by speaking to Well-informed person.
She said: ‘I know for a fact that we don’t add cold butter to bread in regular sandwiches on the North East, South or West Coast.
“Maybe because our favorite bread is sliced white bread and not a loaf of bread, which may actually contain butter.”
Amanda added that most people in the US don’t see butter as a seasoning, but rather as a cooking ingredient and “sometimes a lubricant for toast.”
