An American activist was killed during a protest in the West Bank.
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, was reportedly shot in the head a few days after arriving in the region.
Palestinian media and the Jerusalem Post report that the woman’s death was due to gunfire by the IDF. The IDF has not yet confirmed those details.
She was rushed to Rafida Hospital in Nablus but died from her injuries.
The Turkish-American citizen was a volunteer for the Faz3a campaign, which works with Palestinian farmers demonstrating against Israeli settlements.

He arrived this week and had been attending a protest against the expansion of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian town of Beita, located 13 kilometers southeast of Nablus.
Paramedic Fayez Abdul Jabbar said the Israeli army fired two live rounds, one hitting a foreign activist and the other hitting an unidentified person whose wounds were less serious.
Last month, an American activist was shot in the leg by Israeli forces as they attempted to quell a protest in Beita.
In October last year, Israeli soldiers shot and killed Karam Dweikat, a 17-year-old Palestinian, in Beita during protests.
Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas condemned the latest killing in a statement to Reuters.
“This is her life, that of a foreign citizen with American nationality… during peaceful popular protests,” Daghlas said.
“All legal measures will be submitted to the International Criminal Court,” he added in a statement. “Bullets do not distinguish between Palestinians, children, women or any nationality.”
Eygi, a Seattle native, graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology and a minor in Middle Eastern languages and cultures.
“Now her life is forfeit, she is an American citizen who has American nationality, which means that Israel is crossing all boundaries,” the governor continued.
“We call on President Biden to stop all support to the occupying state because the occupying state is working hard to bomb hospitals and kill children and kill foreigners, including American citizens.”
Eygi, a Seattle native, graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology and a minor in Middle Eastern languages and cultures.
Her Linkedin profile indicates that she was working as a mentor for college students at the university.
She was from Antalya, Türkiye, but went to West Seattle High School according to her Facebook page.
The Turkish government issued a statement on Friday accusing the Netanyahu government of “murder.”

“Israel is trying to intimidate all those who come to the aid of the Palestinian people and peacefully fight against genocide,” the statement said.
“This policy of violence will not work. Israeli authorities who commit crimes against humanity and those who unconditionally support them will be held accountable before international courts.”
The Israeli government has yet to comment on reports that IDF soldiers opened fire.
