Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection employees announced the safest city in the world for tourists earlier this month.
Several officials associated with the world’s safest city for tourists held a press conference on May 29 to announce its ranking.
Among those attending the conference were the city’s police chief, its mayor and a member of the state senate.
The world’s safest city this year according to the ranking is Honolulu, one of Hawaii’s top tourist destinations that officials say is using collaborative efforts to ensure it remains “a safe place for residents and travelers.”
The company found it was the safest after listing popular cities from travel websites, asking surveyors who visited the areas to rank them for safety, and adding scores from the Safe Cities Index, GeoSure Global and Numbeo.
