An American Airlines first class passenger has been left furious after spending the entire flight with the front seat reclined so far that it was practically in ‘his lap’.
The traveler, who goes by the username @AV_Cova, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his outrage after he flew from Dallas, Texas, to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Sunday, and was left with very little room for legs.
He explained that he spent hundreds of dollars to upgrade his ticket on the two-and-a-half-hour flight and expected to feel comfortable, but had the opposite experience.
The anonymous man said the chair directly in front of his was “broken” so he couldn’t stay in his normal position.
Instead, he leaned so far back that it pressed against his knees for the entire flight, making him “unable to use his tray” and leaving him with so little room that he couldn’t even stand up.
“The guy is on my lap,” the traveler captioned a shot that showed the seat in front of his in a reclined position. “You’re still horrible, @AmericanAir.”
I can’t use my tray and I have no way to get up. “I’m in (seat) 3C, so 2C is clearly broken,” he added in a second post.
“Fix it before someone else wastes a fortune on first class and screws @AmericanAir.”
An American Airlines passenger revealed that he paid $500 for first class, but spent the entire flight with the seat in front of him reclined so far back that it was practically in “his lap.”
