America First Caucus Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gasar have common respect for Anglo-Saxon traditions
Hard-right House Republicans on Friday discuss the formation of an America First Caucus, which a document has described as championing “ Anglo-Saxon political traditions ” and warning that mass immigration is jeopardizing the US’s “ unique identity. ”
The newspaper, which was first reported by Punchbowl News, a news broadcast about Capitol Hill.
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Said he was joining and indicated that fellow Conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Was behind it too.
Several House Republicans, led by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, form a caucus calling for a “common respect for unique Anglo-Saxon political traditions.”
US Congressman Paul A. Gosar (Arizona) is also reported to be involved in the caucus
The document was circulated as the GOP struggles to set a clear direction as it prepares to try to regain control of the House and Senate in the 2022 elections.
One of the divisions of the party is how close it should be to Donald Trump, and the seven-page caucus policy platform clearly embraces the former president’s worldview.
“The America First Caucus (AFC) is there to promote congressional policies that will benefit the American nation in the long run,” it begins. It says the group is striving to “ follow in President Trump’s footsteps and potentially step on a few toes and sacrifice sacred cows for the good of the American nation. ”
Congressman Matt Gaetz, under investigation for sexual misconduct allegations, said he became part of the caucus
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) said Friday that he is joining the caucus. “We will end wars, stop illegal immigration and promote trade that is fair to American workers,” he tweeted
The group calls for limiting legal immigration “to those who can not only contribute economically but have also shown respect for the culture and rule of law of this country.” It expresses its support for infrastructure “that reflects the architectural, technical and aesthetic value appropriate to the progeny of European architecture”.
Democrats, including Representative Peter Welch, denounced the caucus on Twitter as “ naked racist and disgusting. ” “This supposed caucus and its members represent a dangerous nativist perspective that hurts our country, but unfortunately not surprising,” Welch added.
Representative Don Beyer called the group the ‘White Supremacist Caucus’ on Twitter.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) appeared to criticize the new caucus in a Friday afternoon tweet, saying the GOP is “ Lincoln’s party … not nativist dog whistles. ”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Posted a critical tweet that an employee confirmed he was targeting the group.
America is built on the idea that we are all created equal and that success is earned through honest and hard work. It is not based on identity, race or religion, ”McCarthy wrote. “The Republican Party is Lincoln’s party and the party with more opportunities for all Americans – not nativist dog whistles.”
Punchbowl said the group was linked to Greene and Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz.
Due to the GOP’s objections, the House voted early this year to remove Greene from her committee assignments for her recycling of violent, conspiratorial ideas on social media.
Asked to provide a copy of the caucus document, Greene spokesman Nick Dyer said in an email, “We’re not spreading anything, Alan. This was a typical DC gossip leak. ‘
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) told reporters on Capitol Hill on Friday that he is ‘looking at’ joining the group
Representative Barry Moore (R-Alabama) has also reportedly agreed with the group
Representative Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, told reporters he was considering participating in the caucus, saying, “Yes,” when asked if Greene and Gosar were involved.
Gaetz tweeted, “ I’m proud to join @mtgreenee at the #AmericaFirst Caucus. We will end wars, stop illegal immigration and promote trade that is fair to American workers. Gaetz is facing a federal investigation over sex trafficking allegations, according to people who described the probe on condition of anonymity.
The document aims some of its most difficult language on immigration. President Joe Biden’s administration has struggled to process large numbers of migrants on the southwest border and has had little success in securing legislation in Congress.
“America is a country with a border and a culture, reinforced by a common respect for unique Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” the paper says. “History has shown that social trust and political unity are threatened when foreign citizens are massively imported into a country.”
It adds that “ America’s long-term existential future as a unique country with a unique culture and identity that is needlessly compromised is something our leaders ” cannot ignore.
The document echoes Trump’s false claims that “recent election results show that the integrity of our election has been compromised.”
It proposes curbing high-tech companies that are ‘armed and deployed against conservatives’ and takes steps against the pandemic, such as mandates for masks, social distancing and lockdowns for ‘conditioning the culture and behavior of Americans’ and destroying the economy.
It says ‘better waste management’ would be more beneficial to the environment than the Paris Climate Accord’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
AMERICA FIRST CAUCUS HIGHLIGHTS
Great technology: The wealth of data they have collected from Americans has given them powers that would make a Soviet dictator blush. We have seen these powers armed and deployed against conservatives in recent years, even when Big Tech first allowed terrorists and pedophiles to organize and publish on their platforms. ‘
Immigration: An important distinction between post-1965 immigrants and earlier waves of settlers is that earlier cohorts were higher educated, earned higher wages, and did not have an extensive welfare state to fall back on when they failed to make it in America and thus not stay in the country at the expense of the native. ‘
Foreign aidTaxpayers’ money should be spent at home so that individual Americans can make charitable contributions to people around the world in need. The America First Caucus believes that the American people are the kindest and sweetest in the world, and that they are much better at dividing their own money than corrupt bureaucrats play with it. ‘
National security: America must not sacrifice blood and treasure while our so-called allies refuse to do their part to neutralize threatening actors in the world. America must remain a free and independent Republic, not a globalist watchdog. ‘
Trade: “Free trade accomplishes many of the same nefarious economic goals that mass immigration does.”
America First Education: “Our education has worked to actively undermine the pride in America’s great history and is actively hostile to the bourgeois and cultural assimilation necessary for a strong nation.”
