Ambulances have been photographed on the outskirts of the White House after a staff member reportedly suffered an attack.
The paramedics rushed to the west wing on Thursday afternoon after the medical emergency.
Press secretary Sarah Sanders told the White House press that a staff member had suffered an attack and that she would take it for evaluation by ambulance.
She added that the staff member, who has not been named, is fine, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The media was rejected by the Secret Service to allow the passage of medical equipment.
