Amber Rose, the model and actress who was arguably the most unconventional speaker at the Republican National Convention, has explained who pushed her to declare herself a fan of Donald Trump.

Rose sat down for a recording of the conservative commentator Candace Owens’ YouTube Showwhich will be published in full on Friday.

In clips obtained by DailyMail.com, Rose said it was her ex-husband, rapper Wiz Khalifa, who pushed her to publicly show her support for Trump.

She did so on social media in May, writing “Trump 2024” as the caption for a photo of the model with the former president and first lady, all dressed in evening attire.

“My ex-husband told me to do it, Wiz,” Rose told Owens.

Owens asked Rose – whose other famous ex is disgraced rapper Kanye West – what prompted her to show her support for MAGA, commenting that it became an “Internet moment.”

The clip cuts off before Rose reveals any more details beyond naming Khalifa as her inspiration.

She admitted that she believed that if she accepted Trump, her career would be canceled.

“When I stepped out onto the ledge and posted the picture of Trump, Melania and I, that was the moment I was like, ‘I’m done, I’m done,'” she recalled.

Rose also said she was unsure at first glance how she would be treated when she addressed the Milwaukee convention, noting that she looked around and saw “a lot of white men in suits.”

“And so I can understand why maybe a person of color or someone coming from the left might be intimidated by that, because maybe that’s not the norm that we’re used to,” Rose said.

Rose said one of Trump’s speechwriters helped her craft her speech and she didn’t think it would resonate with the crowd. “It definitely changed my life,” she said of the aftermath, as convention-goers flocked to her for photos.

Overall, she was captivated by the experience.

She said one of Trump’s speechwriters helped her write her speech.

“I wrote my speech with one of the writers who works for Trump,” she explained. “I told them everything I wanted to say. I didn’t want to talk about the border, I didn’t want to talk about all that. I wanted to stay like my mother, I wanted to talk about the economy, inflation and things like that.”

“My story, how I came to this side,” he continued. “And they wrote something down and I put it in my own words, and that’s what everyone saw at the Republican National Convention.”

During her comments, the model explained that her father had become a supporter of Trump, someone she believed to be racist, a characterization her father denied.

“To prove my father wrong, I researched and analyzed everything related to Donald Trump,” she said on stage.

“I realized that Donald Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re black, white, gay or straight, it’s all about love,” Rose said. “And that’s when I realized: These are my people, this is my place,” she added to cheers.

She told Owens she didn’t think the speech would make any impact.

“I was like, there were so many speakers coming up, nobody knew me in the political world… and honestly the whole day before I spoke, there were maybe some young girls who were my fans and stuff like that who wanted pictures, but other than that nobody really knew who I was there,” Rose said.

“And right after that speech, boy, I must have taken like 3,000 pictures in four days,” he said. “I promise you it was from morning to night. Down at the hotel, out at the Republican National Convention, walking to the Republican National Convention… it definitely changed my life.”

The rapper was still processing her newfound fame on the right.

“I’m just a girl from Philadelphia,” she told Owens.
