Amber Heard didn’t give Elon Musk permission to share a cosplay photo of her dressed as video game character Mercy from Overwatch.
The Tesla billionaire, 52, dated actress Heard, 37, seven years ago – and she ordered a cosplay outfit after Musk said she reminded him of Mercy, his new biography revealed .
He then posted the photo of his ex-girlfriend wearing the outfit to his 156 million X followers on Wednesday and it was viewed more than 16 million times.
But Heard didn’t give Musk permission to share the intimate snap, according to Page six.
A source said the actress “did not give Elon permission to use the photo” and that it was meant to be kept “private.”

Musk told his girlfriend that she reminded him of Mercy, his favorite character in the video game Overwatch – at which point she ordered him a cosplay outfit.
Heard is reportedly annoyed because “Elon repeatedly asked her to speak to Walter” for the biography, which “she did… out of respect for Elon.”
Musk’s new biography titled “Elon Musk” reveals: “He told her she reminded him of Mercy, his favorite character in the video game Overwatch.
“So she spent two months designing and ordering a head-to-toe costume so she could play a role for him.”
In response to a tweet about the incident in the book, Musk confirmed: “She dressed up as Mercy. It was great.’
He then shared a photo of her in the outfit. In one snap, Heard looked into the camera while donning the white costume, halo, wings and suspenders.
To transform into a video character, she donned her iconic white block bodysuit and gold halo helmet. She also has mechanical wings attached to her back which Heard would have needed to play the character in good faith.
Known for her blonde hair and prominent bust, a Mercy outfit would have required a stiff corset as well as a dark-colored choker.
It comes after it was revealed that Elon Musk’s family despised Heard because they thought she was “toxic” and a “nightmare”.
Musk’s brother Kimbal and the entrepreneur’s friends hated the Aquaman star “with a passion” because she brought so much drama into his life during their year-long relationship.

According to Musk’s senior staff, Heard was “like the Joker from Batman” who “thrives on destabilizing everything.”
Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk describes the relationship as a “dark vortex” that was the most painful relationship the Tesla founder has ever experienced.
“It was brutal,” Musk says of his time with Heard, adding that the breakup led to “the most concentrated period of pain” he had ever endured.

In the book, Isaacson writes that Musk, 52, who has 11 children by three different women, was not “raised for domestic tranquility.”
The book says: “Most of his relationships involve psychological disorders.
“Most distressing of all was when actress Amber Heard dragged him into a dark vortex that lasted over a year and produced deep pain that still lingers today.
“It was brutal,” the author writes.
Their affair began after she directed the 2012 film Machete Kills and he agreed to be a consultant. The film was about an inventor who wants to start a company on an orbiting space station.
Heard says in the book: “I guess I could be called a geek for someone who can also be called a hot girl,” she jokes. Musk took her for a ride in a Tesla and Heard “decided he looked attractive for a rocket engineer.”
Their next meeting was scheduled for the Met Gala in New York in May 2016. Heard was in the process of divorcing Depp and found Musk to be a “breath of fresh air.”
A few weeks later, Musk came to visit Heard in Miami, where she worked. He took her to Cape Canaveral, where a Falcon 9 launch was planned.
Heard “thought it was the most interesting date she had been on,” the book claims.
According to Musk’s senior staff, Heard was “like the Joker from Batman” who “thrives on destabilizing everything.”
For Musk’s birthday in June, she paid him a surprise visit to the Tesla factory in California after arriving from Italy where she worked.
I heard “hide in the back of a Tesla and get out” when Musk drove by.
Their relationship “deepened” in 2017 when he flew to see her in Australia while she was filming Aquaman.
The book says: “His playfulness, however, was accompanied by the type of restlessness that attracted Musk.
“Her brother and friends hated her with a passion that outweighed their distaste for Justine (Musk’s first wife).
“She was so toxic,” Kimbal says. ‘A nightmare’. Musk’s chief of staff, Sam Teller, compares her to a comic book villain.
“She and Musk would stay up all night fighting and then he wouldn’t be able to get up until the afternoon.”
They split in July 2017, but got back together for another five “tumultuous months.”
The end finally came after a “wild” trip to Rio de Janeiro in December 2017 with Kimbal, his wife and some children.
The book says: “When they arrived at the hotel, Elon and Amber had another one of their flamethrower fights.
“She locked herself in the room and started screaming that she was afraid of being attacked and that Elon had taken her passport.”
