One of two young female prison guards accused of having inappropriately intimate relationships with inmates at a New South Wales correctional center is now reportedly pregnant.

Amber Clavell, 25, who allegedly had a relationship with armed robber Mark Kennedy, 27, at Geoffery Pearce Correctional Centre, near Windsor, northwest Sydney, between January and April, is now said to be pregnant with her son.

The investigation into Clavell led to her colleague Jessica Jade Elguindy being accused of an alleged relationship with another inmate at the same prison.

The pair were reportedly best friends and had matching tattoos.

Elguindy, married and mother of two, was charged with entering into a relationship with an inmate, causing a security risk, accessing or modifying restricted computer data and misconduct as a public office holder.

Clavell has also been charged with two counts of accessing or modifying restricted data, placing prohibited drugs in lieu of drug care and supply.

Clavell’s alleged lover will not be eligible for parole until 2027.

Court documents allege that on April 23, she snuck 33 grams of methamphetamine to give to Kennedy, which she hid in balloons “on her body,” along with a bag of tobacco, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Clavell is also alleged to have abused his access to internal correctional services systems to verify his inmate’s lover’s contact with his wife over the jail phone.

Clavell appeared at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday, hiding his face and refusing to answer questions from the media when he arrived.

Police allege that Clavell “seriously endangered the good order and security” of the prison by having knowledge of “multiple crimes committed by inmates and other staff.”

Sources told the publication that Clavell and Elguindy were alleged to have confided in each other about their illicit affairs.

Elguindy’s father, Walid ‘Wally’ Elguindy, is a decorated officer who has worked in the prison system for 30 years and is director general of strategic population management.

When contacted by Daily Mail Australia recently about his daughter, who is married with two children, Elguindy said he was not in a position to comment on her circumstances.

“I have nothing to say at this time in relation to that,” Mr Elguindy said. “It’s a difficult time and there’s nothing I can say right now.”

Under Elguindy’s bail conditions, she must not contact Clavell or approach any New South Wales prison without the approval of the director of custodial services.

Clavell must not have any contact with prosecution witnesses or alleged accomplices and faces the same restrictions on attending prisons.

A NSW Correctional Services spokesperson said the department was aware that two staff members had been charged with various offences.

“As the matter is before the courts, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” the spokesperson said.

Both women have been suspended without pay and neither has yet pleaded guilty.

Elguindy remains free on bail and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on May 29.

Clavell will return to court on June 4.

The Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Center where the two women worked is a minimum security facility for men and part of the Francis Greenway Correctional Complex.
