Amazon has signed an agreement with Apple that Cupertino Tech Company sells its products – including iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches – directly on Amazon, according to a report from CNET.
Amazon has sold Apple products before, but they have been from third-party sellers, which means that prices are often variable (and much different than the "official" Apple prices) and that sourcing is not so recognized.
Apple products will start running on Amazon sites in the United States, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and India in the coming weeks, including both Apple's devices and those sold under the Apple-owned Beats brand. . The agreement does not include all Apple products. Apple's eco-competing HomePod will for example not be sold on Amazon.
In a statement released to verge, Amazon's rapporteur said: "Amazon is constantly working to improve customer experience and one of the ways we do this is to expand the selection of products we know that customers want. We look forward to expanding our range of Apple and Beat products globally. "
As part of the agreement, only Apple or Apple authorized resellers will now be allowed to sell Apple and Beats devices through Amazon's website. All companies currently selling Apple products on Amazon will see their listings taken down on January 4, and they will use Apple to become official retailers before they are allowed to sell them again on Amazon.
