Amazon gets a bit ahead of itself with the upcoming Moto Z4 from Motorola. The telephone maker has not formally announced his latest MotoMod device, but as noted by Droid Life, that did not stop Amazon from putting the Z4 briefly on its website and offering it for sale immediately. You know where this is going. Someone has managed to order the Moto Z4, and it even appeared in the mail, complete with a 360-degree camera MotoMod that Motorola will apparently throw over the phone for free.
According to the list of Amazon, the Moto Z4 has a 6.4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Below that is a fingerprint reader. The Z4 drive is Snapdragon's 675 processor, which is newer than the 670 chipset in the recently released Pixel 3A. The Z4 contains 128 GB of built-in storage (expandable with microSD), 4 GB of RAM, a 3600 mAh battery (with 15 watt fast charge) and a headphone jack. All other specifications can be viewed here.
The Amazon page is drawn, but unfortunately for Motorola remains accessible via cache. This offer is for the "Amazon-exclusive" model of the Z4, which is pre-loaded with Alexa and several of the company's apps. It costs $ 499.99, and based on that a screenshot that someone has made before Amazon removes the second offer, the default unlocked Z4 costs the same.
The buyer has placed an unboxing video on YouTube with a number of practical impressions. He seems generally impressed by the device, the aluminum construction and the display, which has a notch with a semicircle notch. According to notch standards, this looks fairly unremarkable and is definitely smaller than what happened on many other phones this year, including some from Motorola & # 39; s own phones.
A possible annoyance is that the Z4 does not fit perfectly in some Motorola MotoMods, resulting in an opening between the phone and the mod that you can easily feel with your fingers. At the rear there is a single camera at the rear. Motorola closed the depth sensor lens that was present on last year's Moto Z3. It also appears that the device that Amazon sent may be running pre-release software. "I can report that the software is still very defective," the buyer wrote on Reddit today. "I get lag and animation stutters where I shouldn't do that. Camera software is also very buggy where the autofocus gets confused when taking photos of subjects close by."
Now that Amazon is already able to ship units, the correct announcement and release of the Z4 is likely to come soon. It will be square in front of the Pixel 3A (which almost certainly has a superior camera), Motorola & # 39; s own G7 series on the bottom, and devices such as the OnePlus 7 Pro that are priced a few hundred dollars higher. But none of those other phones can still run on 5G networks, while the Z4 almost certainly supports Motorola & # 39; s 5G MotoMod.
