Amanda Bynes is seen walking in West Hollywood a month after her release from mental health facility

Date:

Amanda Bynes was pictured out for a walk in West Hollywood, Calif., on Monday, more than a month after she was released from a mental health facility following a three-week stint.

The 37-year-old actress was dressed in a casual black and white ensemble when she was seen checking her phone while crossing a crosswalk on a spring day in Southern California.

The Thousand Oaks, Calif. native rocked her jet black locks and parted to the side as she wore a white shirt with a graphic of a basketball game and Michael Jordan’s number 23 on the bottom.

The Hairspray actress completed the ensemble with black track pants and white Converse high tops as she carried an off-white quilted Chanel handbag over her shoulder.

The She’s the Man star was seen a month after making headlines when she left a mental health facility after a three-week stay.

She reportedly worked with facility staff to determine that she was ready to return to her usual routines.

“Amanda left the medical facility on her own accord,” a source told Dailymail.com last month. “She was very cooperative, was involved in her recovery, the staff were supportive of her decision to leave as she had successfully completed the treatment program.”

Bynes “has been advised to continue to distance herself from her” former fiancé, Paul Michael, the source said, adding that “his family and friends believe his separation was a catalyst in his depression and that he does not is not a healthy and safe person”. for her to be there.

The source went on to say that the former couple “was codependent on each other and the latter part of their relationship was toxic, in part due to the fact that they met in rehab.”

“They replaced their addiction to substances with an addiction to each other.”

Now Bynes will enter an outpatient treatment program to ensure she maintains the progress she has made while being treated. She also regains a sense of normalcy, as she would return to live in her own home.

Bynes had previously been in conservatorship since 2013, but it ended last year, so she will regain more freedom to make her own decisions.

Sources told Dailymail.com in March that “he has been advised to continue to distance himself from” Michael.

TMZ previously reported that Bynes’ parents weren’t considering trying to set up another guardianship, as she was doing relatively well before her recent mental health crisis.

The original arrangement began in 2013, after she was involuntarily committed after several run-ins with the law beginning a year earlier.

She had two hit-and-runs, as well as a DUI in 2012 and she was later arrested in 2013 for allegedly throwing a bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment in Manhattan.

Bynes was recently hospitalized after wandering the streets of the Greater Los Angeles area for four straight days after her car was towed in Long Beach on March 15.

During this period, she was apparently in a manic state and spent time walking around naked.

Amanda was reportedly seen walking naked the day she entered the treatment center, but a witness told TMZ the She’s The Man star flagged down a car for help.

She was apparently aware of her mental state and called 911 to report that she was coming out of a psychotic state and needed help.

After being picked up, Bynes was initially placed in 72-hour psychiatric custody, which was initially extended while her team at the mental health facility developed a treatment plan for her.

Amid her mental health struggles, Bynes’ parents banned her ex-fiancé Paul Michael from having any contact with her after their four-year relationship ended in January this year.

“They don’t want her ex-fiancé around her, and he’s been instructed not to have any contact with her,” an insider told DailyMail.com on March 28. “He doesn’t seem to have his best interests in mind and his family has nothing good to say about him.

While talking to New York Posthe said, “She went off her meds and she still hasn’t taken her meds…she’s wild.”

Michael previously claimed the two were now “friends”.

Bynes shot to fame as a child star at age 13 on Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show, and later found success on shows such as All That and What I Like About You.

She has also appeared in films such as She’s the Man, What a Girl Wants and Hairspray, with her final appearance in an upcoming film in 2010 Easy A.

Bynes’ latest meltdown appears to be the reason she pulled out of a reunion with her All That cast at ’90s Con last month, which was originally attributed to an “unknown illness.”

She previously expressed her excitement about reconnecting with her castmates ahead of the convention.

She was to be joined by SNL star Kenan Thompson, her Good Burger co-star Kel Mitchell, Danny Tamberelli and Lori Beth Denberg, who were all part of the popular Nickelodeon sketch comedy series.

The event would also have marked his first public appearance since his conservatorship ended a year earlier.
