Olivia Culpo has revealed what she told her San Francisco 49ers fiance Christian McCaffery after the team lost the Super Bowl last month to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.

It was McCaffery’s first appearance in football’s biggest game. He and Culpo have been dating since 2019 and got engaged last April.

Culpo was in the Allegiant Stadium crowd to watch the Super Bowl and said she’s rooting for fellow 49ers WAGs Kristin Juszczyk and Claire Kittle.

“I feel like we have a lot in common,” Culpo said of her fellow WAGs, per PEOPLE. ‘We share the same experiences every week of the season.’

Kyle Juszczyk and George Kittle are teammates of McCaffrey’s, and Culpo is constantly seen with their wives at games.

“Claire and Kristin are my lifelines a lot of the time,” Culpo said.

As for what Culpo told McCaffrey directly after the loss to the Chiefs, her message drove home how proud she was of him and all the work he put in to reach the NFL championship game.

‘There was so much. There’s so much leading up to that moment, and you have to be proud of the work that got you to where you ended up,’ Culpo said via PEOPLE.

“At the same time, the flip side is if you lose, it’s really devastating and it takes a while to really settle in,” Culpo continued. ‘I think that as time goes on, you just become grateful for the opportunity to have come as far as you did and hopeful for the future.’

McCaffrey never had postseason success with the Carolina Panthers before being traded to San Francisco in October 2022. Having so many eyes on his husband and relationship was new to Culpo.

“Around the Super Bowl, I definitely struggled with just trying to stay grounded and just not get distracted by the noise,” Culpo said. “And I think one of the things about being in a public relationship that can be really hard is knowing how to turn off the noise and how overwhelming it can be with other people’s opinions and eyes. ”

It is not publicly known when Culpo and McCaffrey plan to tie the knot. Culpo knows she’s dating one of the best running backs in the NFL, so her time in the spotlight is far from over.
