Alphonso Davies joined Manchester United fans by praising Luke Shaw after the Bayern star agreed to claim the England international has surpassed him as the world’s best left-back.

Davies is a popular figure on the TikTok social media sharing app, and the topic of Shaw was brought up in a recent livestream.

One of Davies’ TikTok followers commented that “Luke Shaw is clear” (meaning he’s better).

Davies replied by saying, ‘Yeah, I mean, he is, he’s a really good player!’

Shaw has had a tremendous resurgence at United in the last 12 months, pushing his way back into the English fray.

The United left-back also shone on the international scene this summer, scoring England’s goal in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.

And Davies, who came on the scene with Bayern after leaving Canada’s Vancouver Whitecaps, seemed to accept that Shaw is the best in the business right now.

During a discussion on his official TikTok account, Davies added: “I just saw one that sounded like ‘Luke Shaw is clear’.

‘What does that mean? Someone explains it to me. I never really understood that – clear of what?’

He then read out an answer in the chat: “That means he’s better.

‘Oh! Oh, okay, I get it now, it means he’s better. Yes, I mean, he is, he’s a really good player!’

Shaw created 101 chances in just 48 starts for the Red Devils last season, scoring a goal in the Euro 2020 final, followed by three assists in the tournament.
