CITY OF LUCENA – Police arrested a suspected arms dealer in a buyout operation early Sunday in Sto. Tomas City in Batangas province.
Batangas police reported that an undercover police officer, posing as a shopper, caught Norman Oco at 1:20 am in Barangay Sta. Maria.
The report says that Oco, a construction worker and resident of Barangay Sta. Maria, offered an undocumented Armscor shotgun with five bullets to the police officer for P10,000.
Police are investigating further to identify the source of the shotgun.
The confiscated firearm would undergo ballistic and comparison tests to determine if it had been used in previous criminal incidents.
The alleged arms dealer was arrested and will face a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
