Allan Saint-Maximin has revealed he is at a “turning point” in his career, casting doubt on his future with Newcastle.
The 26-year-old winger uploaded a gushing post to Instagram on Monday evening in which he reflected on “one of the most difficult years” of his life.
As well as hinting at the grieving struggles off the pitch, Saint-Maximin suggested he was nearing the end at Newcastle United.
‘This year has been one of the hardest years emotionally, you can’t tell because I’m keeping personal things to myself, but I’ve lost some really important people, and that’s nothing compared to all the things that happened in my life this year, but I always tried to be on the pitch and give my all. I’m so proud of the team and that we reached the CL [Champions League],’ he wrote.
“I am now entering a turning point in my career and I will give everything until the end to achieve my dreams.”

He added: “It is often said that human beings forget quickly, but I will not be able to forget all those who love me for who I am and believe in me in difficult times. It is in these difficult situations that the we see the real supporters.
“Thank you all for the support, no matter what, I will always give my all when I get the chance to step onto the pitch.” Thank God for everything.’
Mail Sport revealed in April that Inter Milan are interested in signing Saint-Maximin during the summer transfer window.
Inter scouts were impressed with the Frenchman after he featured against Manchester United at St James’ Park.
Despite his flair, Saint-Maximin was not always the first name on Eddie Howe’s team sheet, with the manager wanting a higher work rate from his players.
