The 45-year-old actor launched his career as a teenager on the original series All That in the first five seasons starting in 1994 and the spin-off Kenan & Kel in 1996.

Thompson appeared in the Show at the Tamron Hall on Wednesday, where he spoke for the first time about all the revelations about misconduct on All That and other shows created by Dan Schneider on Nickelodeon.

The actor revealed that he never witnessed anything inappropriate while working for Nickelodeon, although he wants the network to investigate further.

“It’s a difficult topic… it’s difficult for me because I can’t really talk about things I never witnessed,” Thompson began.

He added: “All of these things happened after I left, basically, and Dan (Schneider) wasn’t really in Kenan & Kel in that way.”

“I mean, he got the ‘Created By’ credit, but it was a different showrunner, so our worlds didn’t overlap like that, outside of All That, necessarily,” he continued.

Thompson explained that “all that negativity started happening outside of our tenure there.”

“I really wasn’t aware of a lot of it, but my heart goes out to anyone who was a victim or their families,” he said.

“I think it’s good that the documentary has come out and is showing things, stories that need to be told for the sake of responsibility,” he added.

He admitted that the show is “definitely hard to watch because I have good memories of that place.”

“And I have fond memories of my castmates, and to hear that they’ve gone through terrible things like that is just… it’s really hard,” Thompson said.

Hall mentioned that his production contacted Dan Schneider and was directed to his YouTube response, and that they contacted Nickelodeon, who responded that they “investigate all allegations,” to which Thompson responded.

“Well, do more research,” Thompson said to applause, adding, “because this is supposed to be a safe space, this is supposed to be a safe place for kids, and hearing all about that is like, how dare you?” “I know,” Thompson said.

The first four episodes of Quiet on Set debuted on ID last week and aired on Max after their debut.

The docuseries chronicles the misconduct and toxic culture perpetuated by Dan Schneider on the hit Nickelodeon shows he created.

Among the most shocking revelations was Drake & Josh’s Drake Bell, who revealed that he was the young actor who was sexually assaulted by former speech coach Brian Peck.

Bell will return for the new episode of Quiet on Set, premiering Sunday, April 7 at 8 pm ET on ID.
