They are fighting the defamation process of the decade. But Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have not let their clashes in court spoil their enjoyment of London life.
Depp, 57, stayed in a £ 2,000 a night suite at the Savoy at the beginning of the process, but soon moved to Corinthia around the corner.
The seven premium suites cost up to £ 20,000 a night for the Royal, which has four bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for someone like Depp who is constantly in the company of a two-man security detail.
All suites have a butler and access to a private walk-in wine cellar. The Corinthia staff love the actor and say he is always polite and friendly. He’s been staying over, eating room service. His favorite food is fried chicken or something else Mexican.
Contrary to his days of hellish excitement, he goes to bed at 11pm to be fresh in court.

Miss Heard, 34, has chosen to stay in the trendy boutique Ham Yard Hotel, where rooms are designed by acclaimed interior expert Kit Kemp and suites cost up to £ 4,500 a night. The rooms overlook the hotel’s beautiful courtyard. There is a well-known on-site spa and hairdresser who may be responsible for Miss Heard’s elaborate signature braids.
RIGHT MEN AND WOMEN
Among those testifying for Depp is Stephen Deuters. The 41-year-old Brit has worked with Depp for 15 years and is now European president of the film production company Infinitum Nil of the star.
Deuters and his film executive wife Georgina – known as Gina – live in North London. When Depp was seen in a pub in Belgravia last Sunday, he was with Gina. Their group spent the entire afternoon in a private room in Alfred Tennyson.
Depp emerged wearing a large Rasta-style hat and puffing on a hand-rolled cigarette. He was succeeded by 42-year-old Gina, who was driven back to Corinthia with him at about 20:00. This week she declined to comment on Depp.
The actress is accompanied by girlfriend Bianca Butti, with whom she has been dating for seven months. They were first spotted in California in January.
While in London, they have become accustomed to taking afternoon walks after the court has finished tourist sites like the House of Commons. They also looked around Oxford Street.
Miss Butti, 38, has worked in Hollywood as an actress, set designer and filmmaker.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and had an Instagram account called @buttibeatsit about her fight. Her cancer came back last year and there is a GoFundMe page looking for money to pay for her treatment.
She wrote, “I need help, I need so much help, and I have a hard time asking for it. The medical bills are way above my head and there are more every day. My goal is to hit $ 60k (£ 47,000). So far, $ 19,000 (£ 15,000) has been raised.

Guitar hero Jeff Beck has provided support to Depp behind the scenes.
The 76-year-old Hi Ho Silver Lining star had Depp to stay at his Sussex home in January, and the actor also spent time with him just before the case started this month.
Depp is a guitar lover and plays in a band called the Hollywood Vampires.
Beck played on their 2019 album, and Depp stayed with him in early 2019 when the actor was spotted at the local pub wearing a cowboy hat and scarf.
Earlier this summer, he spent time in Beck’s mansion with guitarist and wife Sandra preparing for court and enjoying jam sessions.
The two men released a cover version of the John Lennon track Isolation in May.
The reproach against The Sun stems from an article that criticized Depp’s friend JK Rowling for continuing to cast him as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts movies. Rowling has spoken in support of Depp. She bought his yacht in 2016.
Australian author Kathy Lette is a close friend of Miss Heard’s lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, who organized a party for her at her home in North London two weekends ago.
Miss Butti went, as did TV presenter Sandi Toksvig and her wife. Miss Lette denied that singer Kylie Minogue dialed into Zoom.
Meanwhile, Cherie Booth, the QC and wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, spoke in a personal capacity with Miss Heard’s legal team. She met the actress at an event in New York last year.
Miss Heard has also been in touch with Labor Member of Parliament Jess Phillips. Both women campaign to ban domestic violence.
Depp’s controversial lawyer Adam Waldman was central to the trial. He would stay with him in Corinthia.
The two men have been friends for three years, and Waldman has chaired legal proceedings against Depp’s former manager and lawyer.
Miss Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez, traveled with her to provide support and witnessed in court this week. Whitney had a first-rate seat for much of the marriage and lived in one of Depp’s Los Angeles apartments. She has a young daughter Hunter. Amber and Whitney went to a Mayfair club in the first week of the trial until 1:40 a.m.
